Swedish EORI number for non-EU companies

Who can apply in Sweden, which documents Swedish Customs asks for and how the application works.

Who applies in Sweden?

A company established outside the EU applies for its EORI number in the member state where it first deals with customs. If that is Sweden — for example because your goods enter the EU at a Swedish border crossing, port or airport — Swedish Customs (Tullverket) is responsible.

Documents

  • Registration certificate from the company register of your country (always required for foreign companies)
  • For persons residing outside the EU: an extract of a valid passport
  • Proof that Sweden is the first EU country of your customs activity, e.g. a transport document, order confirmation or invoice
  • VAT numbers issued by EU member states, if you have any

How the application is made

Swedish Customs provides a web form. Swedish companies identify themselves with BankID; foreign applicants do not need an electronic ID, Customs checks them in another way. The form also allows a representative to apply on behalf of the applicant.

With eori-sweden.eu you complete one guided form and sign a power of attorney on screen. We check the details and documents and submit the application as your representative.

Branches

A Swedish branch of a foreign company does not receive its own EORI number. It uses the number of the parent company.
